    • Learning Types
Some educational stuff to bear in mind as you coach a group of kids: players' learning styles and acquisition will be different within any particular age group, based on the players' ability levels and psychological makeups. Kids (and adults, for that matter) prefer and learn through different cues. These can be summarized as:

Auditory: 'I learn best through what I hear.'
Visual: 'I learn best through what I see.'
Kinesthetic: 'I learn best through what I feel/do.'

You undoubtedly will have all three types of learners on your team, so it is crucial that your teaching methods and coaching points involve cues from all three learning categories. A good coach can successfully achieve learning by all players through differentiation.
      Player Fun and Development
The success of player development at this age depends on the coach's ability to inspire young children. As a coach, you have to be larger than life, full of energy and always involved in the practice session. The activities you introduce should be fun and creative, as conventional and overly methodical drills will not be successful with young children, who have very short attention spans. Drills that introduce technical skills, such as passing and shooting, in a conventional manner will not work. Instead, keep your focus on presenting activities that encourage mass participation and group interaction.
